Pipeline & Process for Feedback

Over the past weeks we have discussed collecting feedback and accepting feedback constructively to prepare an effective 2026 plan. Turning feedback into action is the real challenge.
Your team gets feedback from guest daily, however without a pipeline to gather information a large percentage of those comments are never reported.
My recommendation is to put in place the following process
First and foremost Listen with an Open Mind. Focus on understanding, not reacting.
Ask for Clarification. Seek examples to better understand the feedback.
Reflect on the Feedback. Take time to assess what you've heard.
Create a Specific Action Plan with your team. Break down feedback into clear, actionable steps.
Prioritize Areas for Improvement. Focus on one or two key areas at a time.
Seek Support and Resources. You don’t have to have all the answers. Find mentors or colleagues who can help you and your team improve.
Follow Up and Track Progress. Revisit the feedback after implementing updates and report to your team.
This will result in:
- Staff development that accelerates faster
- Performance improvements stick long-term
- Team confidence increases dramatically
- Quality of the guest experience improves consistently
Asking your team for feedback without follow up action is just expensive conversation and will lack of trust in leadership. The leaders that achieve the best results listen and execute.
